You have seen it in the movies. You have seen it on TV shows about University Campus.
Life in a USA University.
You have also met students who have returned from a US university, and they talk excitedly about their wonderful, fun-filled adventures.
And you wonder, is this all true?
Well, it is true! Much, if not all, of it.
Life at a US university campus is an exciting experience.
It is a microcosm of life on the outside but presented in a manageable way as opposed to a large metropolitan city.
Of course, you have all the things which make up a university.
The professors and the classes.
The labs and cafeterias.
The dorms and the administration.
But in addition to all of this, you have numerous opportunities to improve your knowledge and develop a lot of your personal and professional skills.
There are all kinds of clubs and activities.
Sports to participate in and sports to support.
The electric atmosphere at home games is worth experiencing.
Basketball, American football, baseball, ice hockey, soccer, or swimming will allow you to join hundreds of classmates and root for your new team.
There will be a lot of social activities in your dorm and your academic department, and you’re always encouraged to get involved.
And that is how and where you start building your network of friends and people. People who will become good friends. People with whom you will start doing things, from going to the movies, grabbing something to eat, visiting the city, or hanging out at a mall.
But, in addition to all this, there are valuable opportunities to work on campus and enhance your skills in various areas.
Various campus offices will be looking for people who can devote a few hours a week to administrative or other jobs for a small salary.
Besides earning some money, there are exciting life experiences to be had from working in a cafeteria, a gym, a lab or an office, all of which will allow you to expand your horizon and provide valuable lessons as you move through your academic career and towards graduation. You have seen it in the movies.
